COVERT INTERVENTION - Covert intelligence gathering was originally developed by the military and has since been adopted by not only the police and government departments but also high level commercial agencies as a means of evidence gathering for specified tasking.
In its present form covert intervention is, as the name implies, a system developed in accordance with the individual client’s requirements with regard to a specified tasking. It is commonplace in today’s commercial field where a vast amount of financial loss occurs throughout the UK each week. This results in the loss of tens of millions of pounds to the commercial industry. This may take the form of employee theft, information theft, or even the dissemination of valuable information with regard to your own internal security measures. i.e. transport routes, company banking practices etc. It is not always a feasible option to confront suspected persons and in fact it can be to the detriment to all concerned should these suspicions be unfounded. Even with suspicion the police are limited in what they can achieve. Law enforcement surveillance operatives in particular are vastly overstretched.
RISK ASSESMENT - Security in any environment should be commensurate with its risks. However, determining which security controls are appropriate and cost effective is quite often a complex and subjective process. Qualitative Risk Analysis identifies threats and vulnerabilities in a structured manner, allowing the development of controls in response to risk.
At Raven Special Projects, we incorporate the concept of Qualitative Risk Analysis in all Risk Assessments of an executive and his or her family. As described below, Qualitative Risk Analysis can determine if security is appropriate and if so, what levels.
The conducting of Risk Assessments is also effective when applied to crisis situations, planned events or other scenarios. Determining the potential risk to an event or a situation (an example might be a concert tour or a Board of Directors meeting) can eliminate surprises and allow for contingency planning.
We work on a British military footing, working with small units where all our close protection officers are trained to a very high standard in this exacting area of the security services.
As with all small military units each operative has his own specialist skills. These include Anti-Terrorist & Defensive Driving, Surveillance to Government Agency Level, Weapons & Tactics, Explosives, Languages, Data Security, Investigations, Close Quarter Combat, Maritime Security & Electronic Counter Measures.
When our operatives deploy on operational duties in countries in areas of high and low consideration, each team will consist of at least one operative speaking the language of the country or countries involved. To date Raven Special Projects has Officers conversing in French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Arabic and Russian.
